An archaeological mash-up from opposite sides of the ancient world. This ceramic figure merges the skeletal imagery of Moche tomb art with the opulent three-color glaze tradition of China’s Tang Dynasty. The result is both reverent and ridiculous—a meditation on what cultures choose to preserve, and how meaning decays across time.
